~ A list of useful Role-Play guides, resources, and other tools for your Role-Playing experience. ~
↑ Guides ↓
The RP Survival Guide by Brent (A.K.A Sullivan Aisenshield or Shaw Ashecroft in World of Warcraft) is a straightforward RP guide, seeming stout on certain subjects. I believe it refrains from being 'basic', as it touches on every point that it needs to and spends the time it needs to on that point to be a near-extensive guide. It isn't specific to TERA, but the writer intended it to be a basic RP/MMO-RP guide--and it achieves that. It's extremely useful for beginner- to intermediate-level Role-Players, and it's highly recommended by me (even to experienced writers.)
The Role-Play Handbook by Eva is an extensive guide that touches fairly well on beginner, intermediate, and experienced aspects of Role-Playing. I place it secondary to The RP Survival Guide mostly because this guide contains more Final Fantasy XIV-specific elements, being less general than the former, but it contains long and detailed sections on each of its subjects. I believe it's a beneficial read for any level of writer.
The Fearghal Guide to Roleplaying in an MMO by OculusTertius (As re-posted by Slith) is a guide I respect because of how down-and-dirty it gets into really explaining the basic concepts of Role-Play. It is currently my top pick as a guide to suggest to beginner Role-Players, as it offers less for intermediate-level, and not much for experienced writers. Detailed, explanatory, and an easy read.
⚒ Tools ⚒
⚅ RNG Combat Tools ⚔
[/font][/div]The Dungeons & Dragons Dice Roller is a handy tool if you often participate in RNG/Dice-Based Role-Play combat, or if you use RNG for other aspects of your character. It is a simple, handy tool for rolling multiples of a certain dice type, adding modifiers onto your rolls, and keeping track of combat easily.
Rolz(.org) Dice Rooms is another wonderful tool for RNG combat--but the difference between the DnD Dice Roller and Rolz.org, is that Rolz allows you to invite other people to a 'room' and particupate in RNG rolls together. Either website is very useful, but this is my personal favorite.
✎ Writing Tools ☻
Emotion Amplifiers by Angela Ackerman & Becca Puglisi is a personal favorite of mine. It lists 15 emotional states, explains them, and gives the reader extensive information about crafting each into your character. I would almost say this is a must-have tool.
